What you get
Summary. In Dook Quest, no purchase has a random result. Before you pay, with money or with Crowns, you see what you will get: the complete item from the Mustelia Chest (section 1), the next item from the Forge (section 4) and the extra card bought during a run (section 5). In the passes, each premium chest shows its complete item before you receive it (section 6). Everything else that can be bought has fixed contents, described before purchase (section 7). Only the game’s free rewards are random, and they are not sold (section 8).
1. Mustelia Chest
- Price
- 90 Crowns per chest (Crowns can be earned by playing or purchased)
- Contents
- 1 piece of equipment (weapon, helmet, armor, collar or charm): exactly the item shown in the Shop
- Also included in
- Starter Pack (1 chest) and milestones on the premium track of the chapter passes and the season pass
Before you pay, the Shop shows the complete next item:
- the item’s type and model (for example, Sword or Scarf) and the slot it goes in;
- its rarity and item level;
- every attribute, with its value: the main attribute and the extra attributes;
- the legendary effect, if the item is legendary;
- the item’s power compared with the item you have equipped in that slot.
The Shop also shows the 2 items after it on the list (“Coming next”). At confirmation, the game says: “You get exactly this item”. If the item doesn’t interest you, you can simply not buy it.
2. The chest item list
- Chest items come from one fixed list, generated in advance and the same for every player. Each chest opened, whether bought with Crowns or received from the Starter Pack or the premium milestones of the chapter passes and the season pass, takes the next item on the list.
- The list does not change based on how much you spend, the time of day, your progress or whether you are VIP.
- The item level is the highest item level allowed by your Forge at the moment of opening.
- If something changes between the moment you see the item and your confirmation (for example, a Forge upgrade finishes and the item level changes), the game does not charge you and shows the updated item for you to confirm again.
- Starter Pack. It is paid through the App Store and the purchase is delivered by Apple, so the game cannot refuse the delivery. Before purchase, the pack screen shows the same complete item. If the Forge finishes an upgrade before Apple delivers the purchase, you get the same item at the new, higher level, never a lower one.
- Items from paid chests are never automatically salvaged on arrival, even if your backpack is full.
3. How the list was made
For transparency, these are the percentages used to generate the chest list. They are not the odds of a purchase: you see the item before you pay and get exactly that item.
| Rarity | Percentage | Extra attributes |
|---|---|---|
| Common | 0% | — |
| Rare | 75% | 1 |
| Epic | 22% | 2 |
| Legendary | 3% | 3 and one legendary effect |
| Type | Possible models (percentage for each) | Percentage for the type |
|---|---|---|
| Weapon | Fangs, Claws, Sword, Dagger (6.25% each) | 25% |
| Helmet | Nightcap, Helmet, Crown (6.25% each) | 18.75% |
| Armor | Vest, Chainmail, Cape (6.25% each) | 18.75% |
| Collar | Scarf, Little Bell, Spiked Collar (6.25% each) | 18.75% |
| Charm | Monocle, Ruby Amulet, Clover (6.25% each) | 18.75% |
Extra attributes were chosen with equal weight from the attributes allowed for that item type. On legendary items, the legendary effect is one of 5 possible effects (Eternal Dance, Light Hand, Deep Sleep, Happy Dook and Secret Stash), each with an equal weight of 20%.
4. Forge
When you forge equipment, you choose the slot (weapon, helmet, armor, collar or charm) and pay with in-game resources (grain, wood, stone and gold). Resources are earned by playing and can also be bought, in the Resource Pack and the Starter Pack.
Before you forge, the Forge shows the complete next item for that slot, with the same details as the chest (model, rarity, level, every attribute with its value, the legendary effect if any, and the comparison with the item you have equipped), and the button “Craft this item”. What is shown is exactly what you get. The next item for each slot changes after any craft and after each expedition (run).
For transparency, these are the rarity percentages used to generate the next items, by Forge level. They are not the odds of a craft: you see the item before you forge.
| Forge level | Common | Rare | Epic | Legendary |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 64% | 28% | 7% | 1% |
| 2 | 57% | 31% | 9.75% | 2.25% |
| 3 | 50% | 34% | 12.5% | 3.5% |
| 4 | 43% | 37% | 15.25% | 4.75% |
| 5 | 36% | 40% | 18% | 6% |
| 6 | 29% | 43% | 20.75% | 7.25% |
| 7 | 22% | 46% | 23.5% | 8.5% |
| 8 | 15% | 49% | 26.25% | 9.75% |
| 9 | 8% | 52% | 29% | 11% |
| 10 | 7.48% | 51.40% | 29.67% | 11.45% |
| 11 | 7.02% | 50.88% | 30.26% | 11.84% |
At levels 10 and 11, the percentages are rounded to two decimal places.
5. Extra card during runs
During a run, you can buy an extra card with Crowns. Before you pay, the button shows exactly which card you get. The extra card earned by watching an optional video is free and is still a random draw.
6. Chapter passes and season pass
The premium chests of the passes take items from the same list as the Mustelia Chest, which all chests share. The pass screen shows, in order, the next items on that list, and you can see all the details of each one by tapping it. If you open other chests first (with Crowns or the Starter Pack), they take those items and the pass gets the following ones on the list. So the pass items are not reserved when you buy the pass. At each premium claim, the game shows the complete item before you receive it.
7. Purchases with fixed contents
Every other item for sale has fixed contents, described in the Shop before purchase:
- Crown packs (doubled on the first purchase), Hoard Piggy Bank and Resource Pack;
- Royal Pack (no ads, Crowns and Stamina Potions) and Starter Pack (Crowns, resources and 1 chest item, shown in full before purchase);
- VIP Monthly, passes, skins and Matilda’s Assistant;
- with Crowns: resource carts, fragment packs, potions, speed-ups for builds and caravans, a 2nd build slot, resetting skills, redoing a decree and the event pass.
The event shop uses event tokens, which are earned by playing and are not sold.
8. Random free rewards
Some free rewards in the game are random: items found during runs and dropped by enemies, elites and bosses, raid chests, the free end-of-run rewards and the extra card from a video. They cannot be bought, with money or with Crowns. For transparency, these are the rarity odds for items:
| Source | Common | Rare | Epic | Legendary |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Regular enemies | 75% | 20% | 4.5% | 0.5% |
| Elite enemies | 50% | 38% | 10% | 2% |
| Road chests, events and raids | 0% | 70% | 25% | 5% |
| Chapter boss | 0% | 0% | 75% | 25% |
9. Changes
If the way the lists are generated or the odds of the free rewards change, we will update this page before the change takes effect. What the Shop, the Forge or the purchase screen shows at the time of purchase is the reference for that purchase. Questions: ricardo@pdpconsultoria.one.
